We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development and enhancement of industrial power distribution equipment. This role offers the opportunity to work on new product designs, custom engineering solutions, and continuous product improvements while collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the manufacturing process.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, enjoys solving technical challenges, and has experience with 3D CAD modeling and product development.
Design and document mechanical components and assemblies for power distribution and electrical equipment
Collaborate with engineering, production, supply chain, and service teams to deliver high-quality products on schedule
Participate in design reviews and implement feedback to improve product performance and manufacturability
Develop mechanical prototypes, support fabrication activities, and drive design improvements based on testing results
Independently manage smaller engineering projects from concept through release
Partner with multiple departments to ensure products meet customer expectations and manufacturing requirements
Support product customization, engineering change notices (ECNs), product lifecycle management, and continuous improvement initiatives
Prepare and maintain technical documentation and engineering drawings
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
Minimum of 2 years of relevant mechanical design experience
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities while working in a collaborative environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience designing power distribution or electrical enclosure products
Minimum of 2 years of experience using SolidWorks CAD software, including thermal and structural evaluations
Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software
Knowledge of sheet metal design, detail drawings, assembly drawings, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles
Familiarity with UL and IEC electrical safety standards
Experience with Switchboards, Power Distribution Units (PDUs), UL 891, or UL 508 control panels
Technical writing experience
Experience designing or supporting test fixtures
