ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a motivated Associate Personal Injury Attorney to join
a growing, high-volume personal injury practice in Oklahoma City.
This role is ideal for an attorney with 1–3 years of personal injury
experience who is ready to take greater ownership of cases while
developing leadership and management skills.
The Associate Attorney will report directly to the Senior Managing
Attorney, manage an assigned caseload, and provide leadership and
legal direction to a team of paralegals.
We are looking for someone who is proactive, organized, comfortable
making decisions, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
The right candidate will understand that excellent legal
representation requires more than legal knowledge; it requires
urgency, communication, accountability, and consistent case
progression.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage personal injury cases from initial representation through resolution.
• Supervise and provide legal direction to an assigned team of
paralegals and legal support staff.
• Conduct regular case reviews and ensure matters continue progressing
toward resolution.
• Develop case strategy and provide legal guidance throughout the life
cycle of each matter.
• Evaluate liability, damages, insurance coverage, medical treatment,
and overall case value.
• Review medical records, bills, police reports, insurance
information, liens, and supporting documentation.
• Review and approve demand packages.
• Negotiate claims and settlements with insurance carriers and defense counsel.
• Communicate with clients regarding significant case developments and
legal strategy.
• Draft and review correspondence, pleadings, motions, discovery,
settlement documents, and other legal materials as necessary.
• Assist with litigation matters, including discovery, depositions,
mediation, motions, and court appearances when appropriate.
• Ensure deadlines, documentation, and client communication are
handled appropriately.
• Identify and resolve issues that could delay or negatively impact a case.
• Maintain accurate and timely information within the firm’s case
management system.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, legal support staff, and leadership.
• Ensure all matters are handled in accordance with applicable laws,
professional standards, and ethical requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active Oklahoma law license in good standing.
• 1–3 years of personal injury experience required.
• Plaintiff-side personal injury experience strongly preferred.
• Experience handling bodily injury claims and negotiating with
insurance carriers.
• Working knowledge of medical treatment, damages, liens, insurance
coverage, demands, and settlement negotiations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to effectively lead, manage, and provide direction to
paralegals and legal support staff.
• Strong judgment, accountability, and attention to detail.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
• Experience in a high-volume plaintiff personal injury practice.
• Motor vehicle accident experience.
• Previous experience supervising paralegals or case managers.
• Litigation experience, including discovery, depositions, motions,
mediation, and court appearances.
• Experience using modern legal case-management technology.
