Junior Accountant

A leading financial management consultancy in Stellenbosch is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join its team. This role provides full-time employment within an office setting, offering the flexibility of working from home one day per week alongside half-day Fridays. The position works directly alongside senior accountants and fractional CFOs, assisting with client portfolio management, financial statement preparation, and regulatory compliance. Daily hours are based on standard South African office schedules with a short Friday, alongside occasional flexibility needed to support international client time zones. Key Responsibilities: Prepare accurate financial statements using Draftworx software. Calculate, process, and submit VAT and tax returns via SARS e-Filing. Manage full-function payroll processing for designated client accounts. Record and reconcile financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner. Deliver ad-hoc accounting, administrative, and project support to Senior Accountants and CFOs. Requirements Completed tertiary degree in Accounting or Finance. Completed articles and active professional registration as a Professional Accountant (SAIPA) or AGA (SA). Demonstrated knowledge of South African tax regulations and accounting standards. Proven technical accounting, bookkeeping, and reconciliation capability. Bilingual proficiency in English and Afrikaans (both written and spoken). Willingness to work flexible hours or occasional overtime to meet client project deadlines across varying time zones. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience supporting fractional CFO or client-facing accounting services.
