A fast-growing premium water solutions provider is seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Junior Finance Manager to join their established finance department in Cape Town. This role serves as a critical quality control layer, bridging the gap between the operational finance team and the senior Financial Manager. The successful candidate will not focus on day-to-day transactional processing, but will instead take full ownership of overseeing, reviewing, and consolidating all financial data before it is presented to senior leadership. The position operates on a full-time, in-office basis with standard professional business hours. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting Quality Control: Act as the primary gatekeeper for all outgoing financial data, ensuring every report, reconciliation, and pack is complete and accurate before submission to the Financial Manager. Debtors & Creditors Oversight: Monitor and review monthly age analyses, ensuring the ledger accounts are fully reconciled by the respective Controllers and resolving complex or aged outstanding balances. Management Accounts Review: Perform rigorous analytical reviews on monthly management accounts prepared by the Senior Accountant, interrogating variances and verifying balance sheet reconciliations. Compliance & VAT Administration: Review monthly VAT reconciliations and classification of input/output VAT to ensure absolute compliance with SARS deadlines. Reporting Calendar Management: Maintain and coordinate the monthly finance calendar, driving accountability across the team to meet all reporting deadlines. Multi-Jurisdictional Support: Assist with intercompany reconciliations and support consolidated reporting requirements across international entities. Requirements Completed SAICA-accredited articles. Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting (NQF Level 7) or equivalent tertiary qualification. Minimum of 2 years' post-article experience in a commercial accounting or financial management role. Prior experience working within a trading, import/export, or logistics environment. Direct exposure to multi-currency or cross-border transaction monitoring. Proven experience reviewing the financial outputs of other team members and ensuring reporting accuracy. Sound working knowledge of South African VAT legislation and IFRS for SMEs. Required Software Skills Advanced Microsoft Excel Practical familiarity with Zoho Books or Zoho One software.
