Logistics and Supply Chain Graduate Intern - JHB

A leading medical equipment distribution organisation is seeking a Logistics and Supply Chain Intern for a 24-month structured graduate programme. This opportunity offers comprehensive practical exposure to inventory management, stock processing, consignments, quotations, and commercial reporting within a fast-paced healthcare supply chain environment. The position operates within a 24-hour business structure requiring shift work, after-hours support, and call-out duties as assigned by the Line Manager. Standard working hours will involve rotational shifts, night shifts, and mandatory scheduled stock-take coverage. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the accurate receiving, dispatch, and internal transfers of medical stock in accordance with operational procedures. Conduct weekly cycle counts, perform stock rotation, and participate in bi-annual stock takes. Pull and reconcile daily JDE system reports, ensuring accurate tracking of inventory movements. Process pick slips, confirm product ranges, and release backorders upon shipment arrival. Ensure all inbound and outbound stock dispatches are verified against official documentation. Generate weekly discrepancy reports covering overages, shortages, and stock level recommendations. Assist with the physical picking, packing, and Inter-Branch Transfers (IBT) of goods. Maintain systematic daily filing of documentation to support audit compliance. Adhere strictly to organisational health, safety, and operational governance policies. Requirements Completed Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related discipline. Valid driver’s license with access to reliable personal transport. Full willingness and flexibility to work night shifts, after-hours, on-call duty, and scheduled weekend stock takes. Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills. Resilient mindset with the ability to maintain composure and accuracy under pressure. High level of personal initiative, self-motivation, and service orientation. Preferred Qualifications: Prior exposure to or basic knowledge of JDE or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Required Software Skills: Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency (specifically Microsoft Excel). Basic exposure to JDE or similar ERP software.
