As a Senior Business Analyst, you play a crucial role in ensuring that email campaigns meet business objectives, consumer needs, and technical requirements. You bridge the gap between business stakeholders and development teams (developers and engineers.) You know how to gather requirements, communicate clearly, create detailed and accurate documentation, and participate in quality assurance testing to ensure solutions meet business needs.
Ideally, you have experience with email development projects, collaborating with creative and technical teams, partnering with your project and account managers, and identifying any potential risks ahead of time. You’re creative, solution-oriented, organized, collaborative and have exceptional people skills.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Requirement gathering: Collect and document business requirements from stakeholders.
- →Collect technical requirements: Identify integration with CRM, personalization needs, tracking, and automation.
- →Documentation: Create detailed, accurate, and thorough documents including Adobe email campaign specifications, seed lists, and test scenarios required for each simple to complex email campaign. Develop business logic as it pertains to audience segmentation which aligns with email and direct mail creative needs. Identify audience segmentation and guide team and client on data needs for dynamic email content.
- →Testing and validation: Assist in agency quality testing to ensure solutions meet business needs and align to provided specifications. Ensure all requirements (personalization, dynamic content, links, tracking, data) are implemented as specified. Validate business logic and serve as liaison with any partner email deployment vendor.
- →Process Mapping and Analysis: Identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks in the existing workflow. Propose improved processes for email development.
- →Mitigate Risks: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solution and problem-solve as issues arise. Escalate as necessary to ensure integrity of client expectations and internal capabilities.
- →Meeting Leadership: Lead effective and efficient meetings through preparation, clear direction, and detailed meeting agenda.
- →Process and Quality: Champion agency process and quality work.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 5-8 years project management experience
- Agency experience preferred
- Email and direct mail experience required
- Database and customer segmentation experience required
- Data file layout and data feed knowledge and experience required
- Email marketing platform experience preferred (understanding of segmentation, automation, personalization)
- Email testing experience required
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
- Proven track record and experience in people collaboration
- Proven track record in issue identification and resolution
- Proficient in key software: Microsoft Office tools (particularly Excel, Power BI), Adobe Workfront or similar project management software
- Technical aptitude/understanding of the principles and components of HTML development and testing
- Ability to support operations and development groups by following departmental policies and procedures, accurately complete timesheets, and attend mandatory information sessions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
