The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the Company's Accounting functions. The position requires a highly motivated, "roll-up your sleeves" professional. We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This role will be responsible for supporting the month-end close process, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills with a particular emphasis on revenue recognition and a commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Assist with the preparation of external financial reports and audit schedules
  • Apply revenue recognition principles in accordance with ASC 606 and company policies
  • Review customer contracts and purchase orders to determine proper revenue recognition treatment
  • Prepare revenue-related journal entries and maintain accurate revenue schedules
  • Support the billing process and ensure revenue is recognized in the appropriate period
  • Collaborate with Operations and Sales teams to ensure proper revenue recognition for manufacturing contracts and projects
  • Perform account analysis and investigate unusual transactions or variances

Assist in the development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures

Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal control procedures

Requirements

Maintain organized and complete documentation to support financial transactions

  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Operations, Sales, and Procurement
  • Communicate effectively with leadership regarding financial results and issues
  • Participate in continuous improvement,
  • Prior experience with manufacturing and/or Engineering Services is a plus
  • 4+ years of overall accounting experience
  • 4-year Undergraduate Degree, preferably in Accounting, Business or Finance
  • QuickBooks or ERP experience preferred, but not required
