| Job Description: |
- Stay up to date with UF/IFAS Extension EFNEP requirements, policies, and guidance, and provide staff with timely updates and clarification as needed.
- Engage in EFNEP and county trainings, meetings and professional development to support effective program implementation and coordination.
- Complete required programmatic reports accurately and on time, including success stories and activity reports as requested.
- Develop and administer county needs assessment program plan in alignment with program goals and funding requirements.
- Monitor progress toward county program goals and address areas needing improvement.
- Maintain the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of program records.
- Review and approve staff administrative records, including travel expenses, grocery receipts, work logs/calendars, and time and leave, in accordance with UF and program requirements.
- Procure program supplies and materials within budgetary guidelines and maintain accountability for program assets.
- Delegate appropriate administrative and reporting responsibilities to the Office Assistant and provide necessary oversight.
- Supervise and provide day-to-day leadership to assigned EFNEP staff.
- Hold regular team meetings and individual check-ins to communicate expectations, address needs, and support staff performance.
- Coach and mentor employees to strengthen performance, professional skills, and achievement of program expectations, including caseload goals.
- Address employee relations and performance concerns promptly and complete required UF performance management processes.
- Observe each Nutrition Educator conducting an educational session at least twice per year, including one observation of participant evaluation administration; document observations and review feedback with the employee to identify strengths and areas for growth.
- Conduct independent follow-up with participants or community partners, as appropriate, to assess and address significant program implementation or performance concerns.
- Coordinate with the EFNEP state office to fill vacancies, including participating in candidate selection and providing onboarding and orientation for new hires.
- Plan and deliver group and individual staff training on nutrition content, curricula, teaching techniques, recruitment, and other required competencies.
- Provide group training one to two times per month and identify appropriate topics and resources for staff self-study.
- As applicable, obtain ServSafe® Food Protection Manager certification, coordinate SafeStaff® Food Handler certification for staff, and ensure appropriate food-handling practices at EFNEP offices and programming sites.
- Maintain existing community partnerships and develop new partnerships that support EFNEP programming and participant recruitment.
- Identify and recruit appropriate teaching sites in collaboration with EFNEP staff, the County Extension Director, and other partners.
- Promote EFNEP within the community to increase awareness of and access to program services.
- Participate in community advisory groups, coalitions, and other meetings that support program outreach, recruitment, and partnership development.
- Maintain existing community partnerships and develop new partnerships that support EFNEP programming and participant recruitment.
- Identify and recruit appropriate teaching sites in collaboration with EFNEP staff, the County Extension Director, and other partners.
- Promote EFNEP within the community to increase awareness of and access to program services.
- Participate in community advisory groups, coalitions, and other meetings that support program outreach, recruitment, and partnership development.
- Travel independently throughout the assigned county or geographic area to support staff supervision and program operations, including site visits, teaching observations, and meetings with partners, advisory groups, and Extension personnel.
- Travel outside assigned county or geographic area for UF/IFAS Extension EFNEP meetings, trainings, and other program responsibilities.
- Complete overnight travel as required for annual training and other program-related activities.
- Driver’s license is required for this position.
$61,000 annually

Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid driver's license and reliable daily transportation
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment and initiative, manage competing priorities, solve problems effectively, and complete responsibilities with minimal day-to-day supervision.
- Strong leadership and supervisory experience, including setting expectations, managing employee performance, coaching and developing staff, fostering accountability, and creating a positive and productive team environment.
- Strong background in nutrition, community nutrition, public health nutrition, or a closely related field. Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and/or Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LD/N) credential strongly preferred.
- Excellent organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple activities, communicate effectively with diverse audiences, and develop and deliver engaging presentations and trainings.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative, productive working relationships with staff, Extension colleagues, community partners, and other stakeholders.
