WHERE YOU’LL BE AND WHAT YOU’LL DO
Riverton Hospital has 7 acute beds and 17 RAC aged care beds. We are a small, yet dynamic hospital servicing the local town and surrounding communities. Linked onsite with the local GP clinic, you will be exposed to a variety of patient presentations from emergency retrieval, low priority attendances, palliation, long term aged care, and everything in between – there is something for everyone at Riverton Hospital!
Set in the beautiful country town of Riverton, South Australia, 89km from Adelaide CBD. As a nurse you will fulfill a role that is engaging, fulfilling and a valued part of the country community.
Riverton is a friendly, peaceful, and scenically beautiful town, nested in the rolling hills just north of Roseworthy and not far from the renowned Clare Valley. With local schools, shops, and services there is everything you might need on hand, and if not, it’s not a far drive to other nearby centres.
Our hospital and aged care facility thrive on a positive culture, where staff are valued and recognised as significant contributors to the ongoing health and wellbeing of the community we care for. We value everyone’s skills, experience and contribution and emphasise a positive mindset aiming to bring our best to our work every day. You will be part of a team that works together, to support each other and provide the best service we can for our patients and our residents. We are proud of our facility and proud to be a part of the community of Riverton – come and join us!
Your role as a nurse will be varied, exciting, and full of opportunity! Given we are a country hospital, our nurses are known for being able to manage whatever comes through our doors, whether it is a critical event or a low priority attendance. You will develop and maintain your skills in triage, acute emergency, mental health, palliation and so much more. In addition, our attached residential aged care facility will offer you a solid nursing foundation in the ongoing management of the care of our valued residents and the challenges and accomplishment that working in aged care can bring.
There will also be opportunity to take on additional portfolios such as blood management, palliative care, education of students, work health and safety, infection control and many others. We offer extensive education opportunities to all our nursing staff as well as opportunities for career advancement into specialist acute roles, education, management, and others. Wherever you want to head with your nursing career, we can help you get there in the Yorke and Northern Local Health Network.
