Join the Yorke and Northern Local Health Network (YNLHN) CenSTaR Direct Care Worker Candidate Pool, and provide care to residents and patients across YNLHN sites.

As a Direct Care Worker, you will play a key role in supporting residents with their daily living needs, delivering compassionate, person-centred care.  Your responsibilities will include assisting with personal hygiene, bathing, showering, dressing and grooming, as well as supporting toileting and continence care.  You will also assist residents with meals and hydration, and support safe mobility through transfers and the use of mechanical lifting aids where required.

In addition, you will contribute to maintaining a clean and safe environment by completing tasks such as bed making, cleaning and sanitising equipment and utensils, and managing the distribution of laundry and personal clothing.  You will observe and report on resident wellbeing, contribute to basic assessments, and assist in identifying individual and group diversional therapy needs.  Accurate documentation and adherence to established policies and procedures are essential.

• A Certificate III qualification in Individual Support or equivalent (relevant to the role)
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team and support colleagues
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse clients
• Ability to work independently, use initiative, and exercise sound judgement with limited direction
• Experience in providing direct care, ideally supporting aged, frail or disabled people
• Ability to manage deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and deliver quality outcomes
