External Shipping Sales - Reefer Specialist

Red Ember Recruitment is recruiting for an External Shipping Sales - Reefer Specialist for our client in Cape Town. Requirements Requirements: Over 3 years of experience in a shipping environment in sales or similar At least 1 year of experience in reefer market sales Extensive knowledge of Reefer clients and market Knowledge of steri shipments / PPECB / reefer insurance claims Tertiary qualification in maritime studies/import, export and/or similar will be a great advantage Admin orientated Strong Interpersonal skills and handling difficult clients Portray corporate image Must be a Team Player Computer Literate in Word, Excel, Power Point, E-mail Ability to work under pressure and under minimum supervision Manage Clients queries if required (Afterhours / Weekends) Duties: Sourcing new clients Maintaining current Clients Filing and checking of SQ’s. Application to principals for freight rates, routings, feeder space, uncleared shipments etc. Providing customers with freight rate quotations. Assisting customers with queries relating to shipments and services Communication with principals on BIZ matters Distribution of freight rate guidelines; BIZ notices, sailing schedules. Updating client database Entertaining clients and organising client functions Involved with negotiation of Tenders/Freight Contracts with clients and principals Keeping/filing of sales requisitions, budgets, credit facilities, canvass planners, business calls reports, the monthly sales report. Consolidating daily and typing of SQ’s, Typing of freight rate guidelines. Assisting with any other ad hoc tasks allocated by management.
