A Certified Medical Assistant acts as a liaison between patients and the medical staff ensuring that patients receive consistent, high-quality care. CMAs provide basic patient care, assisting with activities of daily living, monitoring vital signs, and supporting overall patient well-being under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

• →Assist with the patient admission process.
• →Collect patient information including family medical histories.
• →Take patients’ vital signs such as blood pressure and heart rate.
• →Help patients dress/undress or use the bathroom as needed.
• →Turn or reposition patients who are confined to a bed.
• →Assist patients with food and/or hydration.
• →Clean rooms, make beds and stock supplies.
• →Perform basic medical tasks including wound care and catheter care.
• →Assist with patient transfers and discharges.
• →Monitor patients for signs of illness or infection.
• →Demonstrate a clear understanding of regulations applicable to patient care and/or other Center functions.
• →Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of patient care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team to ensure quality care.
• →Follow the Center’s exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens.
• →Able to problem solve in the presence of stressful situations/work environment.
• →Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program (per State requirements)
• Certification issued by NHA or AAMA
• BLS certification (as required by individual ASC policy)
• Minimum 3 year CMA experience
