REGENXBIO is looking for a curious, motivated, and highly organized Intern to join our People (HR) team. This part-time opportunity is designed for a college senior approaching graduation or a recent college graduate who is interested in building a career in Human Resources and is eager to gain meaningful, hands-on experience inside a growing biotechnology company.

You’ll work approximately 20-30 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate your class schedule. You’ll support initiatives across talent acquisition, onboarding and employee experience, People operations, communications, data and analytics, and special projects.

We’re looking for someone who’s excited to grow with us. This internship has the potential to lead to a full-time opportunity on our People team in the new year. The role is based in our Rockville, Maryland office. Candidates must be able to work onsite part-time during the internship and transition to full-time, onsite work after graduation to be considered for a full-time opportunity.

Support employee lifecycle administration in UKG, including processing new hires and terminations under the guidance of the People team, with a focus on accuracy and timely updates.

Create and maintain employee files and People documentation, ensuring accuracy, organization and confidentiality.

Support the People-side administration of the contractor onboarding and renewal process, partnering closely with Legal and Procurement to coordinate requirements, documentation, approvals, and timely completion.

Assist with recruiting activities, including drafting and posting job ads, coordinating interviews and candidate communications, maintaining recruitment files, and closing postings.

Coordinate onboarding activities, including scheduling New Hire Orientation, preparing materials, ordering swag and welcome boxes, and supporting day-of logistics.

Support offboarding administration, including preparing termination notices for review and coordinating related communications and documentation.

Assist with People processes, HR systems, reporting, and data quality, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.

Take ownership of assigned special projects that enhance the employee experience, bringing fresh ideas to People programs and practices.

We are looking for someone who is eager to learn and contribute in a collaborative, patient-focused environment. Ideal candidates will bring:

Current college senior or recent college graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Communications, Organizational Development, or a related field.

Interest in building a career in Human Resources and availability to work approximately 20 hours per week.

Availability to potentially transition to full-time employment in early to mid-2027.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on commitments.

Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with people across teams and levels.

Comfort working with data, learning new systems and the using Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word.

Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to ask questions.

Good judgment and discretion when handling sensitive employee information.

Previous HR experience is not required. We welcome relevant skills development through coursework, campus leadership, internships, part-time jobs, volunteer experience, and other experiences.

The estimated hourly rate for this internship is $22–$24 per hour. The actual rate offered will be determined based on the selected candidate’s year in school.
