We are looking for a Utility Data Coordinator to facilitate data collection and management activities for ESG (“Environmental, Social & Governance”) initiatives aligned with Rexford’s long-term ESG goals. As a key member of the Rexford Industrial ESG team, reporting to the Snr Director, ESG, this role will be responsible for gathering and ensuring the integrity of utility data for properties in our portfolio.

The most successful person will have previous experience working with utility data at a real estate organization. They will apply their strong organizational skills and background in data collection and management to ensure Rexford’s sustainability performance reporting is accurate, efficient and timely. They will work in an integrated and collaborative manner with cross-functional teams throughout the Rexford organization to support ESG initiatives (Design and Construction, Property Management, Asset Management, Leasing, Legal, Finance and Accounting) as well as with external partners.

Location: Hybrid - Los Angeles, CA

Work Arrangement: You will follow a hybrid work model, offering a balanced blend of remote and in-office work.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating preparation and finalization of authorizations to collect data from utilities
  • Setting up and maintaining profiles for properties in Energy Star Portfolio Manager (ESPM)
  • Monitoring and analyzing data flows from utilities and correcting any issues
  • Facilitating preparation and submission of benchmarking exemptions and reports
  • Preparing reports and coordinating with other teams regarding status of data collection and benchmarking activities
  • Coordinating with stakeholders to collect and manage property attributes in Rexford’s databases
  • Assisting with the management of energy billing
  • Coordinating the collection and reporting of EV and sustainability initiatives data
  • Assisting with enquiries and requests related to sustainability and utility data management processes
  • Facilitating data collection and benchmarking planning and process improvement
  • Additional data entry or support tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in sustainability, environmental science, engineering or related field
  • Minimum 2+ years related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education, preferably in a real estate organization and/or energy/sustainability-related role
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, including Excel, sustainability management software, and Energy Star Portfolio Manager
  • Familiarity with energy benchmarking and performance requirements as well as utility portals for collecting aggregated data
  • Excellent project management skills to handle multiple stakeholders, numerous databases and datasets, meet deadlines, and ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent multi-tasker, organized and responsive
  • Collaborative mindset to work across departments and functions
  • Self-starter with positive attitude and initiative
  • Ethical and values-driven approach, demonstrating a passion for sustainability and making a positive impact

Rexford Industrial's total reward plan includes a premier benefits package, bonus eligibility and long-term stock incentives. The expected hourly rate range for this role is $26.92 to $32.21 (annualized equivalent $56,000 to $67,000), with a 10% discretionary annual bonus target and stock grant eligibility.*The actual hourly rate and total compensation offered depend on a variety of factors, which include, without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location where the job will be performed. The final hourly rate and total compensation will be described in any offer letter.
