IT APPLICATION ADMINISTRATOR

Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Serve as the primary technical administrator and point of coordination for assigned enterprise applications, including commercial, cloud-based, internally developed, and integrated solutions.
- →Maintain an accurate understanding of each application’s purpose, core functionality, business processes, configuration, data flows, interfaces, service levels, support model, and technical dependencies.
- →Maintain or contribute to application inventories, dependency maps, environment diagrams, configuration records, lifecycle roadmaps, vendor information, licensing records, and support ownership documentation.
- →Administer application configuration, workflows, business rules, schedules, reports, notifications, user groups, roles, permissions, profiles, service accounts, and other application-level settings within approved controls.
- →Coordinate diagnosis of issues with infrastructure, security, database, network, development, and other technical teams across the application and its dependencies, including servers, endpoints, operating systems, databases, network connectivity, authentication, authorization, security controls, middleware, APIs, file transfers, scheduled jobs, queues, printers, scanners, mobile or RF devices, and other ancillary technologies as applicable; determine application impact, provide evidence, and engage the appropriate platform owner when remediation is outside the application administrator’s scope.
- →Monitor application availability, performance, capacity, error conditions, integration health, transaction processing, queues, scheduled jobs, and other operational indicators; identify trends and address issues before they create business disruption.
- →Define implementation steps, validation criteria, test plans, maintenance windows, communications, backout or rollback plans, and post-change verification for application changes.
- →Partner with Information Security and infrastructure teams to address vulnerabilities, secure configuration requirements, audit requests, logging needs, and compliance-related remediation without compromising application availability or data integrity.
- →Perform or coordinate routine maintenance activities, including application housekeeping, configuration review, data-quality checks, interface monitoring, job validation, environment hygiene, and lifecycle planning.
- →Create, maintain, and improve technical documentation, including application support guides, operating procedures, dependency diagrams, configuration standards, troubleshooting guides, knowledge articles, test plans, release notes, recovery procedures, and known-issue records.
- →Use knowledge resources, documentation, automation, and AI-assisted support tools effectively and responsibly to improve troubleshooting, consistency, documentation, and service delivery.
- →Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Systems, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- At least three years of experience administering, supporting, configuring, implementing, or maintaining enterprise applications or integrated business systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of application functionality, configuration, lifecycle management, and the relationship between applications and their supporting technologies.
- Experience working in an IT service-support environment using incident, problem, change, request, or release-management processes and a ticketing or service-management platform.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis skills across application, operating-system, database, network, authentication, integration, and end-user layers.
- Working knowledge of databases and basic SQL, common enterprise dependencies and network and hosting concepts.
- Ability to communicate technical issues and interpret technical documentation, diagrams, logs, procedures, and vendor guidance, and to present clear conclusions and corrective-action recommendations.
- Ability to work independently with strong prioritization, organization, time-management, follow-up, and decision-making skills in a production-support environment.
- Ability to solve practical and complex problems involving multiple variables, limited standardization, and competing business priorities; determine root cause and recommend effective corrective action.

- Must be able to communicate, read, write, and speak English.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
- Ability to solve practical as well as complex problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where no standardization may exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to determine “root cause” of problem and determine appropriate and effective corrective action.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to operate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.
- Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
- Regularly works in an indoor/office environment and required to sit and/or use repetitive hand motion.
- Frequently required to talk, hear, stand and walk.
- Must be able to work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
- Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time.
- Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones.
