As our Transportation Manager, you'll lead transportation and dispatch operations, optimize carrier performance, and keep our fabrication shops, warehouses, and jobsites running seamlessly. - Drive on-time delivery performance by leading dispatch and transportation teams, aligning priorities, improving accountability, and ensuring seamless operational coverage.
- Execute efficient routing, load planning, and resource allocation strategies that maximize fleet utilization and meet customer and project deadlines.
- Build and manage high-performing carrier and driver partnerships to ensure reliable capacity, strong service levels, and consistent operational execution.
- Ensure shipment readiness and real-time visibility by proactively coordinating logistics requirements, mitigating disruptions, and communicating recovery plans to key stakeholders.
- Reduce transportation costs and improve operational efficiency through route optimization, load consolidation, KPI management, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Maintain regulatory compliance and operational continuity by managing transportation risks, resolving service failures, and implementing effective contingency and recovery strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Transportation, Business, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 7+ years of transportation, logistics, carrier management, or dispatch experience, including 3+ years leading operational teams.
- Proven expertise managing carrier relationships, transportation capacity, rates, contracts, service performance, and issue resolution.
- Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations, transportation safety, shipping documentation, cargo securement, and permitted loads.
- Experience overseeing transportation budgets, cost controls, vendor negotiations, KPIs, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Advanced leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills, with proficiency in Excel, ERP/TMS systems, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
