About the Role - GEOSTEERING GEOLOGIST 


  • 24/7 Well Monitoring and Geosteering: Supervise, organize, and direct well geosteering in continuous operations to ensure precise placement within the geological target—whether on-site, at Rogii's offices, at client offices, or remotely.
  • Real-Time Data Interpretation: Analyze and interpret real-time LWD and MWD data to support immediate operational decisions during drilling.
  • Technical Support in Planning and Execution: Provide technical support in analyzing the planning, execution, and post-drilling activities of geosteering projects, proposing adjustments and improvements as appropriate.
  • Coordination and Communication: Maintain continuous and effective communication with project specialists and the team lead during operations, adhering to the chain of command and internal protocols.
  • Data and Reporting Management: Prepare and maintain the daily well reporting system and ensure the collection, organization, and availability of data using all Rogii applications (Data Manager, SoloCloud, etc.).
  • User and Client Support: Provide technical assistance to users via phone, email, or any channel required by the client, including availability for off-hours calls (nights and weekends) when project needs dictate.
  • Technical Presentations: Prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations to clients, both in-person and virtually, explaining results, recommendations, and scope of work.
  • Other Related Duties: Perform additional tasks linked to the above responsibilities based on internal project needs or client requirements.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Petroleum Engineering, Geophysics, or a related Geoscience discipline.
  • Experience in wellsite operations, geosteering, or operations geology 
  • Strong understanding of directional drilling, structural geology, stratigraphy, and log interpretation (LWD/MWD).
  • Experience with industry-standard geology/petrophysics software
  • Handson experience using data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, Power BI, SQL) to clean, manipulate, and visualize geological and subsurface datasets, automate workflows, or develop custom analytical scripts.
  • Willingness and capability to work in 24/7 rotational operational shifts (including night shifts, weekends, and holidays).
  • Ability to work  in-office (Rogii or client premises).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish to effectively collaborate with directional drillers, company men, and office teams while following established chains of command. 
  • Ability to make fast, accurate, and critical technical decisions under high-pressure drilling environments. 
  • Must be based and residing in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
