Responsibilities

Independently prepare pit phase designs and short-term mine plans.

Integrate short-term plans into long-term LOM plans to avoid bottlenecks.

Analyze and interpret short-term plans to ensure alignment with operational objectives.
- →
Prepare monthly and weekly plans by coordinating activities and adjusting approaches as needed.
- →
Supervise daily survey work, drilling, and blasting to prioritize planning goals.
- →
Monitor and control mining activities, ensuring compliance with plans and specifications.
- →
Prepare annual budgets and long-term plans with construction and operational schedules.
- →
Respond to internal and external requests; keep up-to-date with trends and technologies in mine design.

Research and recommend process, technology, or methodology improvements.
- →
Prepare technical manuals, reports, and communication materials.
- →
Contribute to development of engineering policies and practices.
- →
Design drill patterns based on operational parameters.
- →
Conduct equipment studies to verify production targets.
- →
Ensure pit designs are correctly implemented in the field.

Coordinate production surveying.
Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, or a related field.
Relevant professional certification or licensure in geology or mine surveying is preferred.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in mining planning, preferably long-term planning.
Experience with geological modeling, production planning, and resource optimization.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database management.
Understanding of geostatistical methods and orebody modeling.
Willingness to work in Brokopondo and Paramaribo on a rotational schedule of 14 days of work followed by 7 days break
A copy ID & a valid proof of good conduct “Bewijs goedgedrag”.
Good communication and interpersonal skills in English.
