Cybersecurity Analyst Intern

Summary

The Cybersecurity Analyst Intern will support the protection of the organization’s digital assets, infrastructure, and game-day technology operations.  Working closely with the Director of Information Technology and IT staff, the intern will gain hands-on experience in monitoring, detecting, and responding to security threats while learning enterprise cybersecurity practices in a high-availability environment. 

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with monitoring network traffic, security alerts, and logs using security tools and platforms. 
• Support incident response activities, including triage, investigation, and documentation of security events. 
• Help identify, research, and prioritize vulnerabilities across systems, applications, and network infrastructure. 
• Contribute to maintaining and improving security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with industry frameworks. 
• Participate in the analysis of potential threats, suspicious activity, and security incidents.
• Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams to ensure secure configuration and system deployments. 
• Stay current on emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and defensive technologies. 
• Assist with compliance-related activities and security reporting as needed. 
• Maintains upmost confidentiality. 
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications for the Position:

• Currently enrolled in or recent completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or related field.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNCs, DHCP, firewalls).
• Exposure to cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CIS Controls, ISO 27001), preferred.
• Familiarity with SIEM tools, endpoint protection or vulnerability scanning tools, preferred.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, tools, or coursework.
• Entry-level certifications (ex. CompTIA Security+, Network+) are a plus but not required.
• Ability to work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Compensation:

This is an hourly role that will pay $16.00 per hour. This is a part-time temporary position for the 2026-2027 season.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

This role operates in both office and stadium settings, requiring on-site presence during games and events.  Live event coverage does consist of being around loud stadium noises and crowds.  While performing job duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, reach, kneel and crouch.  Candidate must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
