We're looking for a Technology and Innovation BUSINESS DEVELOPER to join our sales team in Granada, Spain.

Safran Electronics and Defense (SED), and particularly SED Spain is world leader in Resilient Positioning, Navigation and Timing (R-PNT) solutions that improve the reliability, performance and safety of critical applications, and high-risk operations, even in GPS/GNSS denied environments. We provide virtually fail-safe GNSS and PNT solutions for defenseaerospace and commercial applications worldwide. 

We are a highly dynamic company with a clear focus on research and innovation programs for providing reliable solutions that have robust, dependable, and reliable timing at their core.  

We collaborate closely with agencies such as ESAthe European Commission and Defense Agencies, as well as with international partners in the framework of institutional and commercial Aerospace, Defense and Science programs. 

We are looking for a Technology and Innovation Business Developer contributing to growth our business in the indicated application segments.   

 
What you’ll be doing as Technology and Innovation Business Developer: 

You will have responsibility for seeking and engaging new business opportunities mainly in Space (through ESA, national delegations and companies in this segment), Aerospace (avionics, drones, and other vehicles),  large scientific facilities (such as particle accelerators or radioastronomy) and Defense at an international level leveraging also other contacts and international network of Safran Electronics and Defense group.  

As a key member of our Research & Technology and Programs teams: 

  • You will facilitate our engagement in national/international business opportunities contributing to the company growth  
  • You will increase market penetration by understanding the competitive market landscape, how and where Safran Electronics & Defense technology can be of use 
  • You will promote and lead long-term commercial partnerships with key customers and partnerships in AerospaceDefense and Science programs 
  • You will work on identifying/qualifying/pursuing business opportunities aligned with the company technologies 
  • You will collaborate on project proposals from a business development perspective, providing ad hoc support as required 
  • You will leverage strategic partnerships to enhance performance, including preparation of international complex consortia and conducting joint international calls 
  • You are expected to maintain up-to-date internal databases related to customers, opportunities, and commercial activities 

 

What Success Looks Like: 

  • Exceed annual order plan for R&T projects and programs 
  • Execute on plans to increase business opportunities aligned with the company strategy and R&T technology roadmap 
  • Develop and enhance customer long-term relationships such that Safran Electronics & Defense is viewed as a partner to our customers 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities We’re Looking For: 

  • A proven track record of exceeding business targets in Aerospace, Defense and Science programs. 
  • Interpersonal skills to develop relationships with customers and partners 
  • Team player with excellent communication and presentation skills 
  • Ability to communicate technical ideas and write abstracts 
  • Fast learner with strong grasp of new technologies and programs 
  • Self-starter, confident, committed, and enthusiastic 
  • Ability to take initiative, multi-task and prioritize 
  • Proficient in prospecting, negotiating, and closing 
  • Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work at international level 

 

Requirements: 

  • Background in a Technical education or Engineering discipline 
  • 5+ years of business development experience with relevant electronic products, ideally in Aerospace, Defense and Science programs. 
  • Knowledge of how International, European, and National program and grant systems operate is highly advantageous. 
  • Plus: experience with Position, Navigation, Timing and/or Simulation products 
  • This role requires intensive international travels
