The City of Saratoga Springs has an opening for an Accounts Payable Clerk. This position is responsible for providing financial and administrative services in order to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate financial, clerical and administrative operations. This position performs the day to day processing of accounts payable transactions to ensure that Municipal finances are maintained in an effective, up to date, and accurate manner, this includes processing and monitoring payments and expenditures. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure that municipal finances are accurate and up to date, and that vendors and suppliers are paid within established time limits. Would also be responsible to assist and provide assistance when needed to the Office & Facilities Administrator. Including but not limited to meeting vendors or employees at other locations, purchasing, shipping and receiving supplies, and other similar duties as assigned
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Receive and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services.
- →Enters Invoices into Caselle software for payment.
- →Verify that transactions comply with financial policies.
- →Processes the weekly check run.
- →Prepare vendor checks for mailing.
- →Prepare manual checks as needed and when required.
- →Maintain listing of accounts payable.
- →Maintains and updates vendor files and file numbers.
- →Maintain and update a filing system for all financial documents including listings of accounts payable and vendors.
- →Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- →A High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- →1 year of experience in in an office environment demonstrating ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
Special Qualifications & Certifications:
- →Must possess a valid Utah driver's license.

- Ability to oversee projects.
- Perform all cash handling procedures as outlined in the Cash Handling Procedures manual.
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Deal with the Co-workers, Vendors, Elected Officials, and the Public in a professional and friendly manner both in person and on the phone.

The full wage range is as follows, please note hiring will normally occur between the Minimum of the range and will not exceed the Midpoint of the range:
This is an hourly position.
a. Minimum - $20.81/hr
b. Midpoint - $24.97/hr
c. Maximum - $29.13/hr.

The City participates in the Utah Public Retirement System (pension). In addition, the City does not participate in Social Security so no Social Security taxes are deducted from your paycheck. In lieu of the City's Social Security contributions, the City contributes 6.2% of salary into a 401(k) retirement plan.
Leave time benefits include 120 hours of paid time off (PTO) accrued annually, 40 hours of shortterm medical accrued annually, and 11 holidays annually.
Schedule
Monday - Friday: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
