JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Support daily breakfast and evening dinner preparation and service in the commercial kitchen.
Prepare and execute food according to established recipes, production sheets, and presentation standards.
Execute plated courses accurately and within designated service times during theatrical dinner service.
Take responsibility for the assigned station, including setup, preparation, service, breakdown, restocking, and cleanliness.
Prepare food for breakfast, lunch, dinner, banquets, and tasting-menu service, including larger-volume production as needed.
Follow recipes and production sheets consistently to maintain quality, portion control, and consistency across both kitchen environments.
Properly handle, label, store, and rotate food products in accordance with food safety standards.
Maintain organized storage areas, product pars, and a clean and sanitary work environment.
Work with management on daily specials, menu variations, and other food preparation needs.
Communicate effectively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to support smooth and timely service.
Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

NYC Food Protection Certificate (FPC) required at time of hire.
High school education preferred.
Previous restaurant kitchen or line-cook experience strongly preferred, particularly in a fast-paced or high-volume environment.
Candidates with less experience who demonstrate a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and interest in developing their culinary skills will also be considered.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen while maintaining quality and consistency.
Ability to work effectively in a shared kitchen environment alongside a full team during busy service periods.
Ability to stay focused and organized during tightly timed plated dinner and theatrical service.
Knowledge of food preparation, safe food handling, sanitation, and storage practices.
Ability to follow recipes, production sheets, and instructions accurately.
Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house team members.
Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work effectively under pressure.
Ability to transition between prep-focused work and fast-paced plated dinner service.
Ability to stand and work for extended periods during a shift, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.
Availability to work the required schedule, including morning, early afternoon, and evening shifts on weekdays, as well as weekends and holidays.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
