Director of Marketing

In this role, you'll use your knowledge of regional trends, actively respond to Public relations, social media performance, provide strategic direction for marketing for the Resort teams, and ensure achievement of the company’s short and long term goals. Direct and lead the marketing team to achieve to support the budgeted top-line revenues while supporting the Sales team activities. Accountable for Marketing budget creation and insight, to assure appropriate spend. Act as the hotel ambassador by establishing relationships with the community to increase the hotel's exposure. Work tactically with the Digital Marketing, Social Media and Public Relations teams to ensure a strategically symbolic relationship between all disciplines, while ensuring the vision, strategy and tactics are adhered too, as offered, from the Area Director of Sales & Marketing.
Some of your responsibilities include:

- Develop marketing and PR initiatives to support sales strategies and activities.
- Establishes a sense of urgency with the team to understand and anticipate needs.
- Responsible for working directly and reporting to the Area Director of Sales + Marketing (ADSM) in building a clear and credible vision, strategy and tactics for the hotel/resort setting and ensuring Brand compliance.
- Handles specific activities, Social Media, Public relations and Traditional Media, assigned by the ADSM.
- Knowledgeable of competitive set and recommends press, media, activations strategies, service, and product improvements to stay competitive.
- Align with the People & Culture Department (HR), structures, and systems to achieve strategic goals and maximize Employee engagement with monthly or quarterly marketing support.
- Work with Resort and Hotel sales, to communicate specific account needs to impact revenues, and showcase in market events.
- Responsible for directing all Public Relations efforts including management of the Public Relations firm and collaboration with the Home Office PR team.
- Develop appropriate production goals with the ADSM's support and approval, including Social Media metrics, Digital and website metrics, and production timing to deadlines. Responsible for management of departmental budgets including forecasting monthly marketing expenses and explanation of variances on P&L.
- Pulls and analyzes relevant data to develop and recommend appropriate actions.
- Assist with individual quarterly action plans and quarterly Check-Ins for your team.
- Ensure that accurate and detailed notes/traces of accounts are intuitive and complete, via Opera and Delphi databases, for hosted Press, media, influencers, social media mavens, etc.
- Utilization of systems to ensure Project completion, like Trello, Canva Professional, ADOBE Pro Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe Premiere), Sched
- Support, Create, Initiate creative process for Digital marketing, Website updates, Video content, animated gifs, social media management (Sprout Social)
- Creation of content including Videography, Photography, Social media channels, internal requests and departmental requirements
- Other Job duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Hotel Administration or Business preferred.
- 5 years of Marketing experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, computer literacy, and working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere
- Ability to encourage, lead and develop a team by example.
- Well organized, detail oriented with excellent follow-up and communication skills.
- Ability to convert vision into specific and tangible actions.
- Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of integrity.
- Ability to adapt rapidly to evolving market dynamics and needs.
- Must be able to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Salary range: $116,000 – $118,000 USD per annum. This role is also eligible for bonus pay.
