As an Unarmed Security Officer (Part Time) Screening Specialist in University City, Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in the healthcare field. As a Screener in an educational setting, you will support a welcoming, secure environment by screening visitors and belongings, monitoring access points, and communicating professionally with patients, students, staff, and guests. Responsibilities

  • →Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at an educational location.
  • →Screen individuals and belongings in accordance with established procedures, using screening equipment and/or access-control processes as assigned.
  • →Verify identification, credentials, and authorized access before permitting entry to designated buildings, events, or restricted areas.
  • →Respond to incidents, alarms, prohibited-item findings, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities as required.
  • →Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, entrances, and surrounding perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized access and report unusual conditions.

Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Meet hospital vaccination requirements.
  • Have at least 2 years of service in a healthcare/medical-related field.
  • Access control/badge experience is preferred.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
