Senior Odoo Specialist / Administrator

We are a renowned Amazon e-commerce business with a strong and growing portfolio of consumer products sold across multiple Amazon marketplaces.

Behind our storefronts is a sophisticated in-house technology and operations platform, including a modern data warehouse, automation systems, and an operations team spanning supply chain, finance, and marketplace management.

Odoo serves as our ERP and book of record across multiple legal entities.

We are looking for a full-time Senior Odoo Specialist / Administrator to own our Odoo environment end to end: administration, configuration, custom development, integrations, user support, and the relationship with our external development partner.

We have recently implemented Odoo 18 and are looking for an experienced Odoo professional to take ownership of our Odoo environment, improve system performance, resolve technical and functional issues, and drive ongoing enhancements across the business.

The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening our ERP operations, improving workflows, supporting integrations, and ensuring Odoo continues to meet the evolving needs of a fast-growing e-commerce business.

You will be the single technical owner of Odoo: the person who keeps it running, keeps it correct, and makes it better every month.

Responsibilities

~1 min read
  • Own day-to-day administration: users, roles and access rights, companies, master data, scheduled actions, email routing, and system settings.
  • Monitor system health, investigate errors, and resolve issues before they reach users.
  • Manage backups, staging environments, upgrades, and releases on Odoo.sh.
  • Maintain security best practices: access scoping, audit logging, authentication policy, and API key hygiene.
  • Own the core business flows in Odoo: purchasing, receiving and inventory, invoicing and bill matching, approvals, multi-company accounting, and multi-currency handling.
  • Work with finance and supply chain leads to translate business needs into correct Odoo configuration, and validate that flows actually work end to end before they go live.
  • Keep data clean: chart of accounts, product master, vendors, locations, and journals.
  • Develop and maintain custom modules using Python, XML, and PostgreSQL following Odoo best practices.
  • Review all code changes, including those from our external development partner, before they reach production.
  • Test fixes before accepting them.
  • Debug issues to root cause across custom code, third-party modules, and core Odoo.
  • Own our Amazon integration using the Emipro connector suite, including order synchronization, FBA inventory, and settlement report processing, and keep it healthy.
  • Maintain the connections between Odoo and the rest of our technology stack, including data warehouse exports, accounting parallel systems, bank feeds, and internal automation agents that use Odoo's API.
  • Manage support tickets with third-party module vendors when their products break.

People and Process

  • Support and train our operations team.
  • Write clear internal documentation and runbooks.
  • Manage the workplan with our external development partner, including scope, priorities, acceptance, and delivery.
  • Establish sensible change management: staging first, tested before deployment, and documented afterwards.

What We Need — Must-Have

  • 5+ years of hands-on Odoo experience, covering Odoo versions 14 through 18, across both administration and development.
  • At least one Odoo implementation or major migration that you personally carried through to go-live.
  • Strong functional depth in operational Odoo modules, particularly:
  • Purchase
  • Inventory
  • Accounting
  • Sales
  • Experience operating in a multi-company and multi-currency environment.
  • Strong understanding of how picking types, routes, stock valuation, invoice matching, and journals actually work under the hood.
  • Solid development skills in:
  • Python
  • Odoo ORM
  • XML Views
  • PostgreSQL
  • Git
  • Ability to read and review other people's Odoo code, not just write your own.
  • Odoo.sh or equivalent lifecycle experience, including:
  • Staging branches
  • Backup and restore
  • Module upgrades
  • Deployment discipline
  • A strong quality mindset: you test changes before shipping them, verify fixes rather than simply accepting claims, and prefer solving root causes rather than relying on workarounds.
  • Strong written and spoken English. You will write documentation, train users, and coordinate independently with vendors and external partners.

Strong Pluses

  • E-commerce or Amazon marketplace experience, especially experience with the Emipro Amazon Connector (amazon_ept) or Amazon SP-API.
  • Experience taking over and stabilizing an Odoo implementation originally built by another development team or vendor.
  • Accounting literacy and the ability to confidently discuss:
  • Double-entry accounting
  • Inventory valuation
  • Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)
  • Foreign exchange (FX)
  • Experience exposing Odoo safely to external systems and automation through its API.
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks, BigQuery, or general data warehouse concepts.
  • Odoo certification(s).

How We Work

We operate with a small, agile team and short decision-making loops.

We verify rather than assume: changes are tested on staging, deployed deliberately, and confirmed to be working correctly in production.

Task routing runs through ClickUp, and documentation is maintained alongside the work.

We value ownership, technical depth, clear communication, rigorous testing, and continuous improvement.

Hiring Process

  • Screening Call — 30 minutes
  • Technical Interview
  • A practical walkthrough of real Odoo scenarios relevant to our environment.
  • Paid Practical Assessment

Approximately two hours, completed as a take-home assessment.

  • Offer

Successful candidates will receive an offer with a paid trial period. How to Apply

Please send your CV together with a short note describing the most complex Odoo environment you have personally owned or managed.

We are an equal opportunity employer.
