Home Repair Specialist - Handyman

SERVPRO Team JRF is looking for a skilled and dependable Home Repair Specialist to join our Reconstruction Department. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in residential repairs who takes pride in quality workmanship, problem-solving, and leaving a jobsite looking better than they found it.

Our Reconstruction Department completes residential and commercial repair work following water, fire, and other property damage. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded tradesperson who can confidently handle a variety of repair tasks and is comfortable working independently or as part of a team.

* Perform general residential repair and reconstruction work

* Install, repair, and finish drywall, including patching, taping, mudding, and sanding

* Install and replace insulation

* Perform interior and exterior painting

* Install and repair various types of flooring, including LVP, laminate, and other common residential flooring systems

* Perform light carpentry, including trim, baseboard, doors, framing, blocking, and other finish work

* Complete demolition and preparation work as needed

* Install and repair cabinetry and other finish components

* Perform punch-list and warranty work

* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite

* Communicate professionally with homeowners, project managers, and other trades

* Identify additional repair needs and communicate them to the project manager

* Follow company procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards

Experience with tile installation and repair is highly desirable but not required. Candidates with experience setting tile, preparing substrates, grouting, waterproofing, or completing tile repairs will be given additional consideration.

* 2+ years of experience in residential remodeling, construction, handyman services, or a related trade preferred

* Strong working knowledge of general home repairs

* Ability to perform quality drywall, painting, flooring, and carpentry work

* Ability to troubleshoot problems and determine practical repair solutions

* Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship

* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

* Professional appearance and communication skills

* Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

* Ability to safely lift, carry, and move construction materials and equipment

* Willingness to work in homes and properties affected by water, fire, and other property damage

We’re looking for someone who is a skilled generalist — not necessarily a master of one trade, but someone who can walk into a house and confidently figure out how to repair what needs to be repaired.

You should be comfortable picking up a new task, solving problems in the field, and taking ownership of your work from start to finish. Quality matters to us, and we expect our team members to treat every customer’s home as if it were their own.

Starts at $(25.00 - $35.00)/hour based on experience, with possibility of overtime pay and increases based on merit.
