School of Engineering - Research Staff (Aquaculture Water Treatment)
Quick Summary
• Conduct applied research on smart water treatment technologies for recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS). • Perform laboratory experiments, aquaculture field trials, water quality monitoring,
This applied R&D project focuses on developing an innovative smart water treatment system to improve water quality, reduce ammonia, pathogens, turbidity, biofilm, and algae, and enhance the sustainability of land-based aquaculture.
The project integrates two proprietary technologies:
• DuoBioSonic – Dual-frequency ultrasonic cavitation for controlling pathogens, algae, biofilm, and turbidity.
• AquAPEX – Multicellular graphite electrolysis for ammonia and nitrogen removal.
The successful candidate will contribute to prototype development, laboratory research, system integration, water quality analysis, field validation at commercial fish farms, and technology commercialisation.
