Senior Product Designer

Since 2015, we’ve been building the Shakepay app to make buying and earning bitcoin fast, easy, and secure. In 2022, we launched the Shakepay Card, allowing shakers to earn bitcoin rewards when they shop. Today, more than one million Canadians use Shakepay to grow their bitcoin savings and take control of their financial future.

As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll lead design for key areas of the Shakepay product, owning problems end-to-end—from early discovery to polished execution. You’ll work closely with Product and Engineering to shape solutions, not just deliver them.

This role is a mix of craft, systems thinking, and product. You’ll zoom in to refine details at the pixel level and zoom out to influence the broader customer journey and product direction.

• →Own end-to-end design for core product areas: Lead projects from research and discovery through prototyping, testing, and final execution across mobile and web.
• →Shape product direction: Partner with Product Managers and Engineers early to define problems, explore solutions, and influence roadmap decisions—not just execute on them.
• →Design for impact: Create experiences that improve key metrics like activation, engagement, retention, and conversion, while delivering intuitive and high-quality user experiences.
• →Champion customer understanding: Use qualitative and quantitative insights to inform decisions and ensure the team stays grounded in real user needs.
• →Evolve our design systems: Contribute to scalable design systems and patterns that ensure consistency across app, web, and marketing surfaces.
• →Raise the bar for design: Help improve design quality, processes, and collaboration across teams. Provide feedback and contribute to a strong design culture.

• 5–8+ years of experience designing and shipping consumer products
• Strong experience owning end-to-end user journeys across mobile and web
• Ability to balance product thinking, systems design, and visual craft
• Comfortable working on ambiguous problems and shaping solutions from scratch
• Clear communicator who can articulate design decisions to cross-functional partners
• Collaborative by default, with strong partnerships across Product, Engineering, and Marketing
• Comfortable using tools like Figma and prototyping interactions to bring ideas to life
• Passion for Bitcoin, financial empowerment, and the future of money
