  • Job Description
  • The Accounts Payable (AP) Leader is a strategic and hands-on role that will lead and manage the AP function within the Finance Shared Services. This high-impact role will focus on optimizing AP processes, implementing automation to drive efficiency, and maintaining rigorous financial controls. The position will collaborate with finance team members and operational partners to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant AP transactions. Key responsibilities include developing best practices, identifying KPIs, and improving processes to support ongoing operational enhancements. Experience in a public company is essential.

We seek a process-oriented individual who is proactive, collaborative, and results-driven, with a proven track record in financial shared services. This dynamic role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and influence.

  • Primary Scope of Responsibilities:
  • ·       Lead and oversee the AP function within Finance Shared Services, managing and supporting the AP team to ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions.
  • ·       Re-engineer and optimize AP processes by leveraging automation tools to drive efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with financial standards.
  • ·       Act as a liaison with operational and finance teams to address escalated AP issues, provide resolutions, and maintain effective communication and support.
  • ·       Identify and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for AP processes, tracking performance and recommending improvements to support continuous operational enhancements.
  • ·       Ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards, including SOX, and establish effective controls for the AP function.
  • ·       Support monthly close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries related to AP.
  • ·       Collaborate with finance leadership to align AP processes with the organization’s financial goals and strategic initiatives.

  • Required Qualifications
  • ·       Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in accounting, finance, or a related field; MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CPA) preferred.
  • ·       Minimum of 10 years of experience in a corporate accounting or finance setting, with a proven track record in process improvement and AP management.
  • ·       Minimum of 5 years directly managing an AP or finance team.

  • Desired Qualifications
  • ·       Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage effectively across teams and functions.
  • ·       Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the capability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
  • ·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in AP system implementations and ERP platforms.
  • ·       Experience implementing and managing AP automation tools
  • ·       Experience with multi-entity, multi-location organizations.
  • ·       Public company experience with knowledge of SOX compliance.
  • ·       Proven expertise in AP workflows, automation, and continuous process improvement.
  • ·       Ability to understand and apply accounting principles related to AP functions and compliance requirements.
  • Physical Requirements
  • ·       EX: Ability to work in tight space
  • ·       EX: ability to climb and work from a ladder
  • ·       Travel X% of the time
