Job Title: Mechanical Inspector Location: Oman Role Overview: A Mechanical Inspector is responsible for inspecting, testing, and verifying mechanical systems, equipment, and installations to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. The role involves monitoring construction and maintenance activities, identifying defects, and ensuring that all mechanical works meet industry and client requirements. Key Responsibilities: Conduct inspections of mechanical equipment, piping, structures, and installations Verify materials and workmanship comply with approved drawings, specifications, and standards Perform quality checks during fabrication, installation, and commissioning stages Review and interpret engineering drawings, technical documents, and inspection plans Ensure adherence to international standards such as ASME, API, ISO, and project-specific guidelines Monitor welding, fabrication, and assembly processes for quality compliance Prepare inspection reports, test records, and documentation Identify defects, non-conformities, and deviations, and recommend corrective actions Coordinate with QA/QC engineers, project teams, and contractors for inspection activities Witness tests such as pressure testing, hydro testing, and equipment trials Ensure compliance with safety procedures and environmental standards Maintain proper documentation and inspection logs Qualifications & Experience: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Minimum 3 to 7 years of experience as a Mechanical Inspector Experience in Oil & Gas, Construction, Manufacturing, or Industrial projects preferred Familiarity with international inspection standards and codes Certification in QA/QC (CSWIP, ASNT, or equivalent) is an added advantage Skills Required: Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, fabrication, and installation processes Good understanding of inspection techniques and quality control procedures Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications Attention to detail and strong analytical skills Excellent reporting and documentation skills Good communication and coordination abilities Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards
