Job Summary
The Student Union is known for being a great place to work and build a career. This is an outstanding opportunity to help us grow in a sustainable and thoughtful way, to provide vision, leadership, and administrative direction to students, as part of The Student Union and student engagement at San Jose State University. Under the supervision of the Intramural Sports and Camps Supervisor, Intramural Sports and Camps Coordinator, and Intramural Sports Student Supervisors, the Intramural Sports Official enforces game rules and records game information for any number of intramural sports including basketball, flag football, soccer, volleyball, kickball, floor hockey, dodgeball, and wiffleball, and other assigned duties.
Essential Functions and Tasks
Essential Functions and Tasks
- Learn, apply, and enforce intramural sport rules to officiate and administrate sport contests.
- Communicate game information with scorekeepers and supervisors.
- Control any disruptions occurring while games are in progress.
- Complete incident and accident reports when necessary with accurate and detailed information.
- Assist the Intramural Supervisors with team check-in, and conduct pre-game captains’ meetings in order to start each contest on time.
- Assist the Intramural Supervisors with setup and tear down prior to and following intramural events.
- Be professional at all times when interacting with staff, supervisors, fellow officials, players, and spectators.
- Attend all regularly scheduled staff meetings, training days, and workshops.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
