We are seeking an experienced and technically skilled Senior Mechanic to perform vehicle diagnostics, servicing, repairs, and technical troubleshooting across our dealership operations in Anuradhapura, Yakkala, and Ehiliyagoda. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling advanced mechanical repairs, supporting workshop operations, mentoring junior technicians, and ensuring high-quality technical service standards across passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and electric vehicles (EVs).

This role plays a critical part in maintaining workshop productivity, repair quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction within the after-sales division.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced vehicle diagnostics, servicing, preventive maintenance, and repair activities across passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and EVs.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues involving engine systems, transmission systems, suspension systems, braking systems, cooling systems, steering systems, and drivetrain components.
  • Conduct inspections, fault analysis, repair testing, and quality checks while ensuring compliance with manufacturer standards.
  • Support warranty repairs, technical troubleshooting, and special repair projects while maintaining accurate repair documentation and service records.
  • Assist workshop supervisors with job allocation, technical coordination, and repair workflow management.
  • Guide and mentor junior technicians, technical assistants, and workshop support staff.
  • Coordinate with service advisers and spare parts teams to ensure efficient repair planning, parts availability, and customer updates.
  • Maintain workshop cleanliness, equipment upkeep, tool management, and compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance workshop productivity and service quality.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in automotive mechanical repairs and workshop operations.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle diagnostics, repairs, servicing, and maintenance procedures.
  • Experience working with passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and modern automotive systems.
  • Ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues and perform advanced repairs.
  • Experience supporting workshop teams and mentoring junior technicians.
  • Good understanding of workshop safety standards and operational procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced workshop environment.
  • Fluency in Sinhala; English communication skills are an advantage.
  • Technical qualification in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience working with diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
  • Exposure to EV servicing and hybrid vehicle systems.
  • Experience working in dealership workshop operations.
  • Familiarity with manufacturer service procedures and standards.
