Director of Financial Accounting

• →Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
• →Oversee insurance accounting, including reserves, reinsurance, and catastrophe-related activity
• →Maintain strong internal controls and SOX compliance; support internal and external audits
• →Provide technical accounting guidance and establish policies aligned with GAAP and regulatory standards
• →Partner cross-functionally to align accounting with business operations and strategic initiatives
• →Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and team development within the accounting function
• →Provide leadership and oversight of the financial accounting function, ensuring accounting operations support accurate and reliable financial reporting.
• →Establish clear accounting standards, expectations, and governance across operational accounting activities performed by accounting management and staff.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred
• 8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including financial reporting or technical accounting
• 5+ years of experience in P&C insurance or a regulated financial services environment
• 5+ years of leadership experience with a track record of developing high-performing teams
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, insurance accounting, and internal control frameworks (SOX)
• Proven ability to assess complex transactions and provide sound accounting judgment
• Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional partnership skills
