✓Compensation: $70,500 to $89,000 per year, dependent on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • →Supports import and export documentation in line with customs regulations, laws and procedures.
  • →Ensures products comply with CBP regulations using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and the Code of Federal Regulations, and maintains HTS codes on all items in SAP.
  • →Requests and compiles import documentation, including customs invoices, certificates of origin and cargo control documents, and serves as liaison with government agencies.
  • →Validates customs broker invoices for payment approval and resolves invoice disputes.
  • →Manages Large Scale project shipments from import through delivery to site.
  • →Manages tasks and projects with a higher level of complexity.
  • →Enters shipments into the Transportation Management System, TMS, and maintains records of items transported.
  • →Tracks KPIs for bill of lading and label creation, and for freight quotes provided to the sales organization.
  • →Performs data analysis on transportation costs and services.
  • →Works closely with internal stakeholders, customers and carriers.
  • →Shares expertise and supports training for Transportation Coordinators and other SMA employees as needed.
  • →Stays current on changes to import and export laws and regulations.
  • →Other duties as may be required or assigned.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience on either the carrier or shipper side.
  • Working knowledge of all carrier modes, including air, parcel, ocean, full truckload, less than truckload and flatbed.
  • Proven carrier management experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer service focus.
  • Experience maintaining and using a TMS.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Creative thinking, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • A highly motivated self starter with strong time management skills.
