SSMO Ministries Corporation is seeking a skilled and service-oriented Facilities Maintenance Technician to support, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing property systems to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment.
Weekly In-Person Schedule: Sunday - Thursday

Responsibilities:
- Routine preventive inspections of property.
- Regularly accessing and servicing equipment in the attic and crawlspaces.
- Minor plumbing repair.
- Painting – as assigned.
- Repair of doors, locks, walls, lights, windows, and ceilings as assigned.
- Installing, moving, and removing equipment and furniture, as needed.
- Changing air-filters on HVAC equipment, per scheduled maintenance.
- Pressure-washing entrances, pathways and parking lots.
- Inspecting the roofs and cleaning gutters.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulation, policy and accident prevention rules.
- Recommending material and equipment purchases when replacements are needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Prior maintenance experience in commercial or institutional setting.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and determine the most efficient method of repair.
- Work independently and with a team.
- Follow written and spoken direction in English.
- Prioritize and respond quickly and effectively to Maintenance Department requests.
- Perform on-call emergency services when available.
- Positive interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with and around a diverse workforce in a polite manner.
- Adhere to the work schedule days and hours of work.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with Sisters, faculty, staff, administrators, parents, students, residents and the general public.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 + years of experience in general property maintenance, construction, or related trade.
- Successfully complete the required background and fingerprint screening.
Preferred Skills:
- Basic proficiency in facilities maintenance
- Superb interpersonal skills, including, patience, empathy and compassion.
- Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Intermediate computer skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. regularly unassisted.
- Comfort working in tight spaces, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or stairs.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms; frequently required to stand walk, talk, sit, and hear; occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach above shoulder height, reach below the waist, or lift as needed. Proper lifting techniques are required.
