The overall role of the Societe Generale Americas Communications department (COMM/AMER) is to define and implement the communication strategy on behalf of Societe Generale GBIS and SG Americas Executive Committee, business lines, resources and regions, combining specialist knowledge and client proximity with a team of professionals worldwide.
Societe Generale is seeking a highly organized and motivated Junior Event Planner to support the planning and execution of corporate events and employee engagement initiatives. This role will assist with the coordination of smaller-scale events, management of corporate contributions and charitable initiatives, and oversight of branded promotional merchandise. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, service-focused, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced corporate environment.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Plan and execute small- to medium-sized internal and external corporate events.
- Coordinate event logistics including venue sourcing, catering, audiovisual requirements, transportation, signage, and materials.
- Manage event registrations, attendee communications, and guest lists.
- Prepare event timelines, run-of-show documents, and planning checklists.
- Support on-site event execution and provide exceptional client service to internal stakeholders.
- Assist senior planners in the execution (pre-event, on-site, post-event, as needed) for high-profile, high-impact client events.
- Track event budgets and process invoices and expense reconciliations.
- Coordinate corporate charitable contributions, sponsorships, and community engagement initiatives.
- Liaise with nonprofit organizations and internal business sponsors.
- Maintain records of contributions, sponsorship benefits, and reporting requirements.
- Assist in organizing volunteer activities and community outreach programs.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies and approval processes.
- Manage inventory and ordering of branded promotional merchandise.
- Coordinate with approved vendors on production, pricing, artwork, and delivery schedules.
- Track inventory levels and recommend replenishment as needed.
- Support distribution of promotional items for conferences, client events, recruiting efforts, and employee engagement activities.
- Ensure brand standards are maintained across all merchandise and event materials.
- Maintain event calendars, project trackers, and departmental documentation.
- Prepare presentations, reports, and event summaries.
- Support vendor onboarding and procurement processes.
- Assist with budget management and invoice processing.
- Handle multiple assignments while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high degree of accuracy.

- Experience coordinating vendors and managing logistics.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in event planning, corporate events, hospitality, marketing, or administrative support.
- Experience coordinating meetings, events, or employee engagement activities is preferred.
- Experience working with budgets, invoices, and vendor management is a plus.
- Familiarity with corporate environments and professional business etiquette.
- Ability to occasionally work flexible hours in support of events.

COMPENSATION:
Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience. The role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and includes a competitive benefits package including 401(k) plan with company match, medical/dental/vision, and other benefits for fertility, wellness, student loans and commuters.
