We are a content-driven affiliate network. We help 600+ global partners scale their businesses with our state-of-the-art affiliate technology.
Founded in 2016, our mission is to empower content creators and high-quality brands to work together to build lasting relationships that support each other's growth. We partner exclusively with genuine content publishers and explicitly avoid coupon, cashback, and loyalty program websites and tools.
We are a fully remote, Canada-based company. As a small, growing marketing technology startup, we are seeking a senior, product-minded full-stack web developer to work closely with our CTO as we continue to build our world-class affiliate platform.
As part of a small engineering team, you will wear many hats across our codebase—ranging from performance optimization and web crawling to UI development and complex API integrations. No two days will be the same.
We are looking for a senior generalist who understands that the why of what we build supersedes the how. You care deeply about user experience, business impact, pragmatic engineering, and strong codebase stewardship.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Product-Minded Ownership: Possess the maturity and independence to personally own and ship production-ready features. Your thoroughly self-tested code accounts for edge cases, fits seamlessly into our UI/UX, and rarely requires refactoring or senior oversight before release.
- →The "Rails is Omakase" Philosophy: You bring a strong command of Ruby, Rails, web architecture, and "convention over configuration." You prefer leveraging built-in framework patterns and existing UI systems to deliver high-value features quickly and efficiently.
- →Codebase Stewardship: You instinctively recognize technical debt, simplify complex code, and refactor existing patterns as a natural part of your day-to-day workflow.
- →Agentic Tooling Integration: You excel at steering agentic AI coding tools to navigate codebases and execute tasks, focusing your personal expertise on high-level architecture, context curation, and rigorous code review. You actively refine directive files and workflows to maximize output quality.
- →Async & Remote Collaboration: Communicate clearly and effectively in fluent, near-native English. You have proven experience collaborating asynchronously across cross-functional teams in a North American startup environment.
- →Adaptability & Curiosity: You relish tackling a wide variety of technical and product challenges, using a broad skillset and creative problem-solving mindset to push the platform forward.
Our stack is built on Ruby on Rails (Turbo / Hotwire / Stimulus / Minitest), PostgreSQL, Redis, and is deployed on Google Cloud.
In this role, you will work across the entire stack to build and refine:
- Affiliate Tracking & Attribution: Systems for conversion attribution, flexible commissioning, offers, referrals, and partner earnings.
- Analytics & Dashboards: Dynamic reporting dashboards, performance charts, and data tables that deliver actionable insights.
- Financial Infrastructure: Mission-critical subscription billing, invoicing, payment reconciliation, and automated payouts where data integrity is paramount.
- Integrations & Pipelines: Webhooks and background data pipelines connecting Kutoku with e-commerce, payment, and partner platforms.
- Developer Tools & Extensions: External REST APIs, clear developer documentation, browser extensions, and our custom Shopify application.
- Content & Search: Content ingestion and brand-mention monitoring across publisher channels, along with comprehensive product/partner directory search and filtering.
- Core App Security & Operations: Onboarding flows, role-based access control, internal administrative tools, and root-cause resolution for production errors or data-integrity issues.
Requirements
~1 min read- 5–10 years of professional Ruby on Rails experience, including deep familiarity with Turbo, Hotwire, Stimulus, and Minitest.
- Strong proficiency with PostgreSQL (query optimization, schema design, data integrity).

- Track record of building, testing, and maintaining production applications end-to-end.
