About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Power System Modeling Specialist to support our U.S.-based Power Systems Engineering team.

This role is critical to the successful execution of power system studies and focuses heavily on model preparation, detailed technical data entry, and ongoing model maintenance. The ideal candidate enjoys structured, precision-based work and takes pride in enabling engineers to deliver high-quality, client-ready results.

This position offers long-term growth with exposure to complex engineering projects, multiple industry-standard software platforms, and collaboration with experienced U.S.-based Power Systems Engineers.

This is a fully remote role supporting North American power system study projects.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare SKM skeleton models to support power system studies based on customer drawings and provided documentation
  • Perform detailed data entry for impedance models, including utility sources, cables, transformers, and associated electrical equipment
  • Perform advanced data entry for LV gear and devices under engineer supervision as technical skills develop
  • Update SKM models as new data, revised drawings, and client documentation are received
  • Use internal macros and tools to prepare detailed lists of missing information required to complete engineering studies
  • Support large and complex projects by completing time-intensive modeling tasks including:
    • Renaming and organizing components
    • Cleaning and standardizing model data
    • Ensuring consistency across project files
  • Assist with miscellaneous modeling and documentation tasks that support timely delivery of engineering studies
  • Work closely with Power Systems Engineers to ensure models are accurate, complete, and analysis-ready
  • Communicate clearly with U.S.-based engineering teams and follow technical instructions with precision

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
  • 1+ year of experience supporting electrical engineering, power systems, or technical modeling work
  • Hands-on experience with SKM Power*Tools for model creation, data entry, and system updates
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of technical data accurately
  • Comfortable working on repetitive, precision-based tasks while maintaining high quality and consistency
  • Self-starter mindset with strong organization, reliability, and eagerness to learn

Requirements

  • Exposure to or experience supporting power system studies including:
    • Short Circuit Studies
    • Arc Flash Studies
    • Coordination Studies
    • Load Flow Analysis
  • Experience using multiple power system analysis platforms such as:
    • SKM Power*Tools
    • EasyPower
    • ETAP
  • Ability to interpret electrical one-lines, drawings, and equipment schedules
  • Experience supporting industrial, utility, or large commercial electrical systems
  • Interest in expanding technical skills as software and service offerings continue to grow
