Journeyman Electrician (Starlink)

SpaceX is leveraging our experience building rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink, the world’s largest satellite constellation and most advanced broadband internet system. We provide reliable and fast internet to millions of users worldwide, including populations with little or no connectivity, rural communities, aircraft, watercraft, and places where existing services are unreliable, too expensive, or disconnected by natural disasters. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system, thousands of satellites and consumer antennae that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing. As a member of the Starlink Facilities team, you will work with a group of elite engineers, technicians, and internal customers across multiple disciplines to build and activate electrical infrastructure for a variety of projects at the Starlink production facility. You will have the opportunity to drive positive change and own projects from start to finish with the goal of making the SpaceX campus a world-class manufacturing facility.

• →Repair and replace defective parts in electrical fixtures
• →Install, maintain, and repair electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic devices
• →Perform preventative repair and maintenance of field, plant, and shop electronic and electrical systems, devices, equipment and components
• →Install enhancements and major upgrades to plant electrical subsystems
• →Perform work from instructions using blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
• →Test electrical circuits to ensure their operability
• →Install electrical components to architectural and code specifications
• →Test wiring connections with test equipment like volt/ohmmeters, and oscilloscopes
• →Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• Journeyman Electrician license or NCCER industrial license 
• 5+ years of experience with electrical systems

• 7+ years of experience with electrical systems in a commercial / industrial setting
• Master electrician license 
• Ability to identify and implement efficient paths of action to finish the assigned work
• Ability to test, calibrate, diagnose, and repair various devices
• Ability to use a variety of electrician’s hand tools as well as measuring and testing instruments
• Demonstrable knowledge and/or understanding of codes, rules, regulations and standards of electrical equipment
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and reports
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments

• Willing to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed
• Must be willing to train on 1st shift for initial 30 days (with potential to go up to 60 days) and work one of the following Alternating Work Schedule shifts upon completion of training:
  • Schedule C: 5:00 PM – 5:30 AM (Sunday – Tuesday + every other Wednesday)
  • Schedule D: 5:00 PM – 5:30 AM (Thursday – Saturday + every other Wednesday)
• Schedule may vary depending on site operational needs and flexibility is required regarding overtime and weekend support
• Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, working in cramped positions in small opening and climbing hand over hand, lifting up to 25 lbs. unassisted, and working on ladders/lifts at elevated heights
• Ability to work in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
• Must be willing to work onsite, remote work not considered
