As a Fresh Food Area Manager, you will manage and assume overall responsibility for the success of the stores by overseeing all operational aspects of Fresh Food for each store, driving sales, and minimising costs.
Building relationships with suppliers, store managers, and key fresh personnel in designated stores and working closely with them to deliver the fresh offer in-store.
Working with suppliers, store managers and fresh teams to optimize sales, margin, participation, and profitability across the fresh areas.
Supporting stores with the implementation of best practices through store visits, monitoring, observation, and in-store training of key fresh staff.
Ensuring all customer service initiatives are in place, handling any issues efficiently and professionally.
Training, challenging, motivating, encouraging, and providing constructive guidance to store managers and the team related to all fresh departments.
Ensuring stores are in compliance with food hygiene legal requirements.
Ensuring stores achieve the highest standards in external audits.
Managing product range and quality in each store.
Developing and promoting new and innovative fresh food concepts.
Developing and driving sales and margins across each fresh food department.
Analysing and reporting department margins and weekly targets.
Overseeing waste control systems to ensure they run optimally in each store.
Overseeing Digitally and Kelsius operations in each store.
Managing marketing and P.O.S material, including menus, offers, and product range.
Training (with store managers) all fresh food staff in HACCP and ensuring files are kept up to date.
Holding training workshops to promote a culture of high performance and standards.
Assisting each store manager in some daily hands-on management duties.
Assisting in any other duties assigned by the Managing Director or Head of Retail.
Informing Management or the Directors of the Company of any suspicions of pilferage or fraud in each store.
Informing the Directors of any improvements or cost savings that can be made to the business.
Attending any relevant meetings.

Requirements

A thorough understanding of budget management, sales, margins, and profits.
Career focused, driven and passionate about driving sales.
Food preparation/food service experience would be an advantage.
Excellent knowledge of HACCP and food safety requirements.
Excellent communication and people skills.
Experience with Kelsius and Digitally will be an advantage.
Strong IT skills including an excellent knowledge and practical experience of MS Office programs.
Full driver's license necessary.
