SQA Services is seeking an Aerospace Quality Engineer to support a space flight hardware program.

This is a 0.8 FTE contract role (approximately 32 hours per week / 4 days per week) requiring a hands-on QE to provide support on the manufacturing floor. The role focuses on quality oversight, documentation review, and nonconformance management during production.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams in a flight hardware environment.

  • Provide on-the-floor quality support for aerospace hardware production
  • Review and validate work instructions, travelers, and production documentation
  • Support nonconformance (NCR) review and disposition
  • Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards
  • Support in-process and final inspections
  • Identify risks and drive corrective actions and process improvements
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams
  • 5+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer in aerospace or defense manufacturing
  • Experience supporting production or manufacturing floor quality activities
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and quality systems (AS9100 preferred)
  • Experience with nonconformance management and root cause analysis
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Experience working on satellite or space flight hardware programs
  • Familiarity with NASA workmanship standards (IPC, J-STD, 8739 series)
  • Experience with actuators, propulsion components, or similar systems
  • Experience supporting high-visibility or ramp-up environments
