About the Role

The Superintendent works out of Stansell Electric’s Nashville office, assisting in all aspects of Supervision and coordination of multiple crews and subordinate supervision in all aspects of installation, alteration, demolition, maintenance, and/or repair of electrical systems, conductors, assemblies, and associated materials/equipment on all type of projects within the electrical construction industry. The Superintendent must show mechanical aptitude, mathematical skills, and literacy skills commensurate to the satisfactory completion of position’s primary duties and responsibilities. Advancement opportunities are available by advancing to more senior positions or through transfer to skilled trades.

  • Has strong expertise in all aspects of trade related materials, components, equipment, systems, methods of installations, safety procedures, safe work practices, all trade related calculations, blueprint and drawing interpretation, and trouble shooting.
  • Effectively communicates and interfaces with peers, crew, project supervision, and General Contractor.
  • Forecasts and orders manpower, material, tool, and equipment need well in advance to assure that the proper tools/equipment, materials, information, manpower, and other requirements are on the project when needed.
  • Directly responsible for supervising and managing all assigned employees and supervisory staff. 
  • Correctly fulfills, in a timely manner, administrative requirements and documentation such as time sheets, labor coding, daily logs, material and tool requisitions, man loading schedules, reports (i.e. incident/injury, employee notifications, etc.) 
  • Monitors labor productivity, Quality Control, and directs subordinate supervision and crews in such a manner to meet project schedules and production quotas 
  • Instructs assigned employees in the correct operation of tools and equipment, safe work practices, electrical principles, and applicable NEC.
  • Evaluate employees under his/her supervision.
  • Performs disciplinary actions, procedures, and documentation.
  • Utilize NEC codebook as needed.
  • Comprehends, abides by, and enforces Stansell Electric customer policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

  • Ability to adhere to Stansell Electric’s Injury Free policies and procedures at all times
  • Ability to work on construction site locations which can include extreme weather conditions, physical hazards, and extreme noise levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

 

  • High School Diploma 
  • 10 + years of electrical experience. 5 + years of field leadership experience.
