We are seeking a Construction Engineer / Facilities Engineer to support healthcare facility upgrades and renovation projects within a VA Medical Center environment in Salem, VA.

This role is focused on construction execution, field coordination, and project delivery, working closely with contractors, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable codes and standards.

This position is ideal for candidates with strong hands-on construction and facilities experience who are comfortable operating in a project execution and coordination capacity.

Responsibilities

→Oversee and support construction and renovation projects in a live healthcare environment
→Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
→Review construction documents including drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals
→Monitor project schedules and ensure timely execution of work
→Support cost tracking, budgeting, and project reporting
→Ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and VA design requirements
→Assist in resolving field issues and coordinating solutions across teams
→Maintain documentation related to construction progress, changes, and project closeout
