Engineer (Maintenance)

Description

Sheraton Boston Needham is seeking a dependable and skilled Engineering Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining the overall operation and appearance of the hotel property, ensuring a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for guests and team members.

The ideal candidate will have experience in general hotel maintenance, preventative maintenance programs, troubleshooting, and repair of building systems and guestroom issues.

• →Perform preventative maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces
• →Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems
• →Respond promptly to maintenance requests and guest service calls
• →Complete routine inspections of equipment, systems, and facilities
• →Maintain pool, grounds, lighting, and exterior areas as assigned
• →Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA regulations, and company policies
• →Assist with painting, carpentry, drywall, and minor renovation projects
• →Maintain accurate maintenance logs and work orders
• →Support emergency response procedures and after-hours needs when necessary
• →Work collaboratively with all hotel departments to ensure excellent guest satisfaction

· Must have a comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.

· Must have a knowledge of applicable Federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations.

· Must have good mathematical and computer skills.

· High school education and relevant training and experience preferred.

· CPR training and first aid training preferred.

• Previous hotel maintenance or engineering experience preferred
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred 

· Minimum lifting of 70 pounds.

· Pushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterity.

· Hearing, writing, typing.

· Minimum pulling of 70 pounds.

· Other duties may be assigned.
