Business Continuity Management (BCM) Relationship Manager

JOB OBJECTIVES Work with the Unit Head, Business Continuity Management (BCM) in developing, implementing, maintaining and testing the Company's business continuity program.
- Work with the Unit Head, Business Continuity Management (BCM) in developing, implementing, maintaining and testing the Company's business continuity program. The RM will support their respective regions, branches, SBU plan activities necessary to enable their SBUs to manage a crisis event as well as meet compliance requirements for BCP planning.
The position's primary goals is to be the focal person for their respective SBU in coordinating the Identification, documentation and testing of business needs against the Company infrastructure and identifying recovery strategies and gaps.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinating Business Continuity Planning efforts for the Business Head Office Departments, Units and branches across regions within responsibility.
- Review Business Continuity Management (BCM) manual, Procedures on BCM developed in line with Bank’s strategy.
- Identify business activities across the organization, determine mission critical activities bank wide and Conduct Business Impact Analysis (BIA) across the Organization.
- Collect and Analyse data for the Continuity Requirements for recovery of mission critical activities bank wide.
- Conduct Organization Risk Assessment to reduce the likelihood of disruption to the Bank and impact in event of unforeseen risk.
- Identify internal and external threats/risks that could impact on the operations of the Bank.
- Determine the likelihood of occurrence and impact of the identified threats & risk.
- Proactively follow up and engage branches/dept. within directorate of responsibility to ensure prompt preparation of their BCP documents and their periodic update.
- Facilitate and support the execution of the plans at the time of a crisis event.
- Lead and Facilitate execution of the plan and support plan navigation for all Head Office Departments, Branches & SBUs at the time of an event.
- Develop and execute the maintenance and testing programs for all business plans, Websites, and other information/communication tools.
- Provide visibility and reporting to the Crisis Management Committee on the critical functions, individuals and infrastructure within the business plans.
- Assist in conducting Training Needs Analysis for all Business Continuity Management Roles across the Bank.
- Coordinate and facilitate training and awareness sessions with bank-wide training plan for staff on Business Continuity Management & Operational Risk Management.
- Source for and prepare BCM training programmes and materials and customize according to business needs.
- Support the Unit Head, BCM in Business Continuity standard implementation, maintenance and co-ordination and ISO 22301 certification to optimize FirstBank enterprise resilience.
- Support and assist SBU in the development of BCP planning and goals.
- Report to the necessary Steering Committee Meeting and define on-going goals, objectives and initiatives.
- Support the BCM Lead in aligning all BCP planning, initiatives and goals with Organizational goals and Infrastructure capabilities.
- Identify and make recommendations for change and adaptation to meet the needs of the business
- Identify and make recommendations for solutions to infrastructure obstacles and business challenges.
- Develop Training materials (inclusive of e-flyers, e-learning, scenarios, BCM Staff Handbook.
- Assist in Co-coordinating Business Continuity Management Review Committee Meetings, Damage Assessment Meeting & BCM Exercising & Testing.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
Minimum Education: First Degree preferably in a numerate discipline; higher degrees /MBA/professional certifications desirable.
Minimum experience – three years in operational risk and banking operations.
