The Sr. Manager of Facilities serves as a strategic and operational leader responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and seamless operation of SUMMIT, a high-volume, guest-facing environment.

This role is responsible for helping ensure that all building systems, back-of-house operations, and public-facing spaces are maintained at the highest standards in support of the guest experience, exhibitions, events, and daily operations.

The Sr. Manager of Facilities is expected to lead with ownership and accountability while also operating as a collaborative, team-first partner within the broader operational framework. This individual must be capable of driving facility performance, supporting department priorities, and working closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment, consistency, and operational readiness across the business.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on facilities management, building operations, custodial services, and operational readiness.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with base building management, coordinating building-related activities, communication, and follow-up.
  • Oversee day-to-day facilities operations across all assigned areas, ensuring the reliability of critical systems and timely resolution of issues.
  • Maintain operational readiness in a high-traffic, guest-facing environment with a strong focus on uptime, responsiveness, presentation, and consistency.
  • Oversee critical building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, life safety systems, vertical transportation, and other facility infrastructure.
  • Coordinate in-house and outsourced maintenance projects, providing recommendations for repairs, upgrades, and operational improvements in collaboration with leadership and base building partners.
  • Support the planning and execution of capital projects, facility upgrades, and special projects as directed.
  • Lead and coordinate responses to building-related incidents, emergencies, and system outages, working closely with base building, security, operations, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure repair, maintenance, and unexpected operational issues are addressed safely, efficiently, and with cost-effective solutions.
  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs for the facility and critical systems in collaboration with department leadership.
  • Monitor facility conditions, infrastructure, equipment, and support spaces to ensure a clean, safe, and first-class operating environment.
  • Ensure all operational and event spaces are prepared for daily use, load-in/load-out, maintenance activities, and special events.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Events, Security, and other internal teams to support day-to-day activities, special programming, overnight work, and rapid operational turnover.
  • Oversee third-party vendor operations and service contracts, ensuring alignment with operational expectations, quality standards, and business needs.
  • Promote a philosophy of service excellence and professionalism across staff, contractors, and service partners.
  • Support the supervision, training, onboarding, and ongoing development of facilities team members, including compliance, safety, and emergency preparedness training.
  • Drive accountability and visibility through work order management, documentation, reporting, and use of facilities systems and operational tools.
  • Support department financial performance through cost control, budget awareness, forecasting, and responsible resource management.
  • Lead with a hands-on approach and a strong sense of ownership while remaining flexible, collaborative, and aligned with department priorities.
  • Serve as a key partner to the Assistant Vice President and broader leadership team, providing operational insight and support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of management experience in a similarly scaled operational environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including hiring, training, supervising, and mentoring staff.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, leadership, guests, clients, and external partners.
  • Proven track record of managing and prioritizing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized, efficient, detail-oriented, and able to build strong relationships.
  • Hands-on leadership style with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Requirements

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, including traveling between meetings and throughout the attraction multiple times per day.
  • Must be able to maneuver between simultaneous functions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift at least 15 lbs and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

 

Salary Range: $80,000-$90,000
