The City of Fayetteville operates as a full-service municipality under a Council-Manager form of government, providing a comprehensive range of services designed to meet the needs of a growing and dynamic community. Fayetteville is a strategic, forward-thinking organization guided by a formally adopted Strategic Plan that aligns policy priorities with operational execution. In recent years, the City has invested significantly in its facilities and public spaces. The opening of the new City Hall in 2021 marked a major milestone, serving as both a functional administrative hub and a centerpiece of downtown revitalization efforts. The City of Fayetteville is seeking a skilled and collaborative human resources professional to serve as its next Deputy Director of Human Resources. This is a newly created position that offers a unique opportunity to build internal capacity, shape organizational culture, and support the City's workforce across all departments. A central focus of this role is leading the City's Training and Development function in identifying, developing, and delivering training programs that align with the City's mission, vision, and values, while also supporting supervisory professional development and partnering with external vendors on specialized training initiatives. The Deputy Director serves as the point of contact for the HR department in the absence of the Director, and assists with the management of the City's Risk Management programs. This position also leads the City's Health and Wellness initiatives, manages exit interview processes, and recommends policy improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of HR services.
