The Forklift Operator supports day-to-day Will Call operations within a fast-paced, customer-facing warehouse environment. This role is responsible for accurate and timely order fulfillment, direct customer interaction, and resolution of issues at point of pickup. The position ensures operational execution aligns with DHL’s service, safety, and quality expectations.
What We Offer

- Rotating Schedule:
3 days on → 1 day off → 3 days on → 3 days off → 2 days on → 2 days off - Weekend coverage required based on rotation
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Operate forklift and material handling equipment to pick, move, and stage orders for Will Call pickup
- →Execute order picking and staging activities to support time-sensitive customer pickups
- →Serve as a customer-facing point of contact, ensuring efficient and professional handoff of orders
- →Identify and resolve order discrepancies, inventory issues, and customer concerns in real time
- →Complete all required system transactions accurately using SAP and eDoc for paperwork tracking.
- →Support inventory accuracy through routine checks and adherence to process standards
- →Maintain organized, safe, and audit-ready staging and work areas
- →Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure service requirements are met
- →Adhere to all DHL safety policies, procedures, and operational guidelines
Requirements
~1 min read- Experience in a customer-facing or service-driven role
- Working knowledge of warehouse systems (WMS, SAP, or similar)
- Experience operating forklift or material handling equipment
- Strong focus on accuracy, quality, and attention to detail
- Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve in time-sensitive situations
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform extended periods of standing and walking
- Prior experience in warehouse, distribution, or Will Call operations
- Exposure to high-volume, time-critical fulfillment environments
- Valid forklift certification
- Meet defined productivity and accuracy standards
- Deliver a consistent, high-quality customer experience at pickup
- Maintain strong attendance and schedule adherence
- Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to changing operational priorities
- Operates with a strong sense of urgency and ownership
- Maintains composure and professionalism in a customer-facing, fast-paced setting
- Highly detail-oriented and process-driven
- Proactively identifies issues and drives resolution
- Collaborates effectively while working independently when required
- Warehouse setting with frequent movement between picking, staging, and customer areas
- Direct interaction with customers and drivers at Will Call
- Operation of forklifts and standard warehouse equipment
- Exposure to standard warehouse conditions
Role Purpose:
What will you do in this role? Our Forklift Operators are responsible for moving stock from one area to another within our warehouse environment. You’ll load and unload shipments of various sizes, and you may use certain types of equipment such as stand-up, sit-down, or clamp forklifts and electric pallet jacks. Our environment is team oriented, fast paced and safety focused. We move products that people need and want. At DHL, YOU will be an essential part of everyday life.
Key Accountabilities:
- Load, unload, move, stock, and stage products and materials using various types of forklifts or other power equipment 80% of specified shift.
- Pull and prepare product for shipment ensuring the exact number and types of product is loaded.
- Keep appropriate records and reports for inventory accuracy.
- Comply with all OSHA and MSDS standards.
- Verify load accuracy; check the load count, stability, and product damage, report variances as necessary.
- Change equipment battery or LP tank and monitor power source as necessary.
- Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
- Assist in physical inventories.
- Complete daily inspection of equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
- Forklift operator certificate or satisfactory completion of a forklift-training program within the first 30 days of employment
- High School Diploma or Equivalent, preferred
- Six months warehouse experience, preferred
- Six months forklift operation experience
