We are seeking an experienced Safety Specialist to support safety operations in a heavy manufacturing environment on second shift. This is a hands-on role for someone who can quickly assess workplace hazards, reinforce safety procedures, respond to incidents, and support employees and supervisors on the production floor.
The ideal candidate has practical experience with lockout/tagout (LOTO), including physically applying locks, and is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced industrial setting. This position also provides routine HR support for second-shift employees.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Conduct floor-level safety inspections and identify potential workplace hazards.
- →Perform hazard assessments and work with employees and supervisors to address unsafe conditions.
- →Support and reinforce lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, including the proper application of locks.
- →Answer employee and supervisor questions regarding safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
- →Respond to workplace incidents, assist with investigations, and complete incident reports and related documentation.
- →Reinforce safety training, safe work practices, and compliance with established procedures.
- →Monitor manufacturing operations to identify safety concerns and recommend corrective actions.
- →Provide routine HR support for second-shift employees as needed.
- →Maintain accurate safety records and documentation.
Requirements
~1 min read- Previous hands-on safety experience in a heavy manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong working knowledge of lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, including physically applying locks.
- Experience identifying workplace hazards and conducting safety assessments.
- Ability to respond to incidents, document findings, and communicate corrective actions.
- Experience reinforcing safety training and working directly with production employees.
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and become productive quickly in a temporary assignment.
