Purpose of the Role:

As the VTS (Variable Test Station) Test Technologist Co-op, you will support essential process testing activities, test execution, and data analysis. You will translate engineering test requests and conditions into practical test plans, safely operate the single-bed test unit following established procedures and training, and monitor key process parameters throughout testing. The role will also involve maintaining detailed test records, supporting instrumentation and calibration activities, and collaborating with the broader test team on additional testing activities as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a minimum 3rd year Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Previous co-op or internship experience in a related industrial, laboratory, manufacturing, or process environment is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of process equipment such as valves, pumps, heat exchangers, piping, and related process systems.
• Exposure to data acquisition, signal filtering and conditioning, process instrumentation, or process control is considered an asset.
• Strong attention to detail, willingness to follow established procedures, ability to work under close supervision, and a collaborative approach to working with team members and managers.

What Success Looks Like in This Role:

• Safely execute assigned VTS testing activities, including DP and BT testing, by following established procedures, training, and safety requirements.
• Translate engineering test requests and operating conditions into clear and practical daily test plans.
• Accurately monitor and record process parameters including pressure, temperature, flow rate, and gas composition, while maintaining detailed test logs.
• Perform basic data analysis using established templates and support instrumentation activities such as calibration, gas sampling, and verification of flow measurement equipment.
• Identify and communicate test variances, equipment issues, or unexpected conditions promptly while supporting a safe, organized, and collaborative test environment.
